Ms. Tania with the help of Ms. Yanika and Ms. Denise carried out the planned activity of X’HemM? Għal Dinja Aħjar building on the theme of Robot activities held previously in class.
During the online activity held on 18.03.2021, the students had a walkthrough of the robot that they built in the classroom. The emphasis was on the sensory things that the robot had, different materials they built their robot with and how it functions.
Through Abacus the students had the opportunity to count the numbers and they matched the number on the mat. They explored the objects around the classroom and they also worked on the value of a number.
Moreover, they also had the experience of fine motor skills where they were also closing the locks and gears and also practising the shoelace using the hooks on each leg. This was integrated to the Three Little Pigs where they used the lock to prevent the pig from entering the house of the pig.
During the online session, the students took part in an activity of which objects are magnetic thus which will be stuck to the magnet on the robot and which other objects that will not. The teacher reinforced the concepts of materials to help them understand and think better which materials are made of metal and which are not.
